that edge is the point. trim runs the entire perimeter — around the neck, down both front openings, and all the way around the curved hem — worked in short pieced sections so it stands proud of the cloth rather than lying flat against it. a fine binding finishes the inner neck.

the shell is a smooth, close-brushed black with a dense dry hand and no shine to it at all, which is why it reads matte against the trim instead of competing with it.
