the whole dress is one long drape drawn to the left hip, where it resolves into two of butrym's roses - the detail the house is known for, and the reason people recognise her work across a room. the gathers radiate out from them.
a high slit opens from that same hip and runs the length of the skirt. long fitted sleeves, a plain round neck, and a small keyhole at the back neck - the design does nothing anywhere else, so the hip does all the work.
polyamide jersey, which is why it has that liquid surface and that weight. it moves differently from a viscose jersey - heavier, glossier, closer to the body.
size 36 converts to a us 4, printed on the brand's own tag. the brand call it a midi, but it sits long - on anyone under 5'8" expect it close to the ankle.
