the layered knitted t-shirt — cos builds this one as two garments in one. a fine burgundy knit on top, semi-sheer by design, and a white cotton tee underneath that is meant to show: a band of white at the hem, a flash of it turned back at the cuffs, and a clean white line running around the neckline.
it is the trick that makes the piece. the burgundy is open enough that the white reads through it across the whole body, so the colour sits somewhere between plum and oxblood depending on the light — and the contrast edges do the work that a print or a logo would do on a lesser top.
regular fit with a dropped shoulder and a short sleeve. shell is eighty-two percent cotton with eighteen percent polyamide, which is where the drape and the faint sheen come from. made in china.
