solid & striped describe the spencer as vintage-inspired, which comes courtesy of a defined bodice and a waist-accentuating belt, and that is exactly what you are buying.

the bodice is built like lingerie, not like swimwear. moulded underwire cups in a balconette line, vertical seams running the length of the torso to shape it, and thin adjustable straps on sliders. under the bust sits a gathered elastic belt with gold hardware at the centre front - two small gold studs and a gold ring. that belt is the whole design: it breaks the body at the narrowest point and makes a plain black suit look constructed.

shell: 80% polyamide, 20% spandex. lining: 80% recycled polyamide, 20% spandex. quoted from the garment's own label. the recycled lining is worth noting - it is on the label, and not every run of this style has it.

the leg is cut high, the back is full, and the suit is lined throughout. the finish has a soft lustre rather than a matte flat black.

âš  care, from the label: hand wash cold. do not tumble dry. standard for structured swimwear and worth following - a machine cycle is what destroys underwire cups and elastane.
