100% cotton. hand made in indonesia. hand wash in cool water. quoted from the garment's own label. the coconut-shell tag is stamped akoia bali on one face and the size on the other.

akoia make crochet swim and apparel by hand, by women artisans in bali, and they are plastic-free across sourcing, production and packaging. the brand say a single hand-crocheted piece can take up to five days to complete.

the top is built in two stitches. the bust is worked solid - close rows, shaped into proper cups with a deep v between them - and then the whole lower half opens into a medallion lace, concentric flowers set into diamonds, scalloped along the bottom edge. the straps are finished with a ruffled picot edge that stands up on the shoulder, and there are two small mother-of-pearl buttons at the back where the straps meet the body.

red, and a proper one - a warm scarlet rather than a blue-red. unlined, as hand crochet always is; it wants a bandeau or a bikini under it.
