the pocket leather jacket — from jen ceballos's collaboration with mango, and the piece in that collection that reads least like mango and most like something pulled out of a flight locker. one hundred percent bovine leather, cut oversized with what the brand itself calls a heavy structure.
a shirt collar that stands when you turn it up, epaulettes at the shoulder, and two enormous buttoned flap pockets across the front with welt hand-warmers set in behind them — so the pockets you use are not the pockets you see. antiqued brass zip. buttoned cuffs. a banded, finely ribbed hem and cuff that pulls the volume in at the bottom and gives it the blouson line.
the leather has gone soft and taken a mottled pull-up finish at the pockets and the collar edge, which is what leather of this weight does and the reason to want it secondhand rather than new.
